Renaming things

Every business has its own words. You might say “Accounts” rather than Customers, “Jobs” rather than Sales, or “Your ref” rather than Customer order no. Customry One lets you change them, and the new names are used everywhere: menus, pages, buttons, messages and documents.

Administration → Naming → Entity Names lists the things in Customry One, such as Customer, Sale, Invoice and Delivery.

  1. Open one.
  2. Enter a Custom name and Custom plural, for example “Account” and “Accounts”.
  3. Save.

Anything left blank uses the system name. Reset to system name undoes a change.

Field Labels does the same for individual fields, such as Customer order no. on a sale. Choose the entity, find the field, and enter your own label. A preview shows how it will look.

Updates to Customry One sometimes reword a system name, or stop using a field. Your custom names are never changed: they’re kept and still used. A system name nobody has changed takes the new wording, and a field that’s no longer used goes from the list unless it has a custom name.

Standard controls holds the wording of the controls used across Customry One: the buttons and match options in a column’s filter menu (such as Apply and Clear), the page buttons under a list, the date picker’s navigation, No results found in an empty list, and the names screen readers announce for them.
